Overview

Remotly lets you control compatible televisions and supported smart home devices from your iPhone. This policy describes what the app stores, what it sends and to whom.

Data on your device

Remotly stores saved device names, network addresses, app shortcuts, integration settings such as your Home Assistant server address or Hue bridge address, and language preferences on your device. TV pairing keys, Android TV pairing identities, Home Assistant access tokens, Shelly device passwords and Hue bridge application keys are stored in the iOS Keychain and are readable only on that device. These records allow you to reconnect to devices you have set up.

Device and server communication

Remotly uses local network access to discover compatible TVs, Shelly devices and Hue bridges and to communicate with the devices you select. A Home Assistant server is reached at the address you enter, which may be inside or outside your local network depending on how you configured it. Pairing information, access credentials, remote commands, values you set and text you explicitly send are transmitted to that device or server, and its reported state is read back, including through a live event connection while a device is open. Device manufacturers, bridge operators and Home Assistant process this information under their own policies. Remotly does not use manufacturer cloud services or cloud discovery; the Hue bridge certificate is checked against Signify's published root certificates bundled in the app.

Developer collection and tracking

Remotly has no advertising or cross-app tracking and requires no developer account. Device names, addresses, pairing secrets, access tokens, device passwords and text sent to your TV are not shared with RevenueCat or the developer. Bundled translations work offline.

Subscriptions and privacy

Apple handles subscription payments and RevenueCat processes an app-specific anonymous customer identifier, purchase and subscription history, device and app technical information, and paywall interactions to verify access, restore purchases and provide subscription reporting. These services require internet access and may receive your public IP address. We do not receive payment-card details. RevenueCat acts as our service provider; removing the app does not delete its purchase records. For data access, correction or deletion requests, contact info@odbs.tech. Some records may be retained to provide the service or meet legal obligations.

Your choices

You can remove a saved device through its menu in the device list; this deletes its record and the pairing credentials associated with it. Forget Home Assistant and Forget Hue bridge delete the stored token or application key. You can revoke Local Network access in iOS Settings; doing so prevents discovery and control of local devices. Remove devices and integrations in Remotly before uninstalling the app if you want their Keychain items deleted.

Support

If you email info@odbs.tech, your email address and the information you provide are used to respond to your request. Do not send pairing codes, access tokens, passwords or sensitive text in support messages.

Changes

This policy will be updated when the app's data practices change. The date at the top reflects the latest revision.
