Add a device
Open My devices and tap Add device. Choose Television to search for compatible TVs on your Wi-Fi, Home Assistant to connect a server, Shelly to find Gen2+ devices on your network, or Philips Hue to find a bridge. Allow Local Network access for Remotly in iOS Settings when asked. Discovery runs only while you are on that screen.
Connect a TV
Turn on your TV and connect the iPhone and TV to the same Wi-Fi network. Choose Television, select a compatible TV and tap Connect. Follow the TV's code or confirmation prompt.
Can't find your TV?
Check that both devices use the same network. Guest networks and router client isolation can block communication. Enable the TV's mobile remote setting if available. You can enter a known TV IP address through I can't find my TV → Advanced connection.
Connect Home Assistant
Choose Home Assistant and enter your server address, for example http://homeassistant.local:8123 or your HTTPS address, plus a long-lived access token created from your Home Assistant profile page. Remotly validates the pair before saving anything. The token is stored in the iOS Keychain; Forget Home Assistant removes it. Supported entities then appear under their categories when you add a device. If a device is missing, tap Refresh devices and check that the entity is enabled in Home Assistant. Garage doors, gates and door openers are not imported.
Connect a Shelly device
Choose Shelly. Gen2+ devices on your network appear automatically; you can also enter a device address. If the device has a password, enter it once; it is stored in the iOS Keychain. Each switch, light or cover channel appears as its own device with the controls it reports. Gen1 devices are not supported.
Connect a Philips Hue bridge
Choose Philips Hue. Bridges on your network appear automatically; you can also enter the bridge address. Press the link button on the bridge, then select it again. Remotly verifies the bridge certificate before sending anything and refuses plain HTTP addresses. Forget Hue bridge removes the stored application key.
Compatibility
Compatible TVs and Android TV Remote Service v2 devices connect directly. Android TV currently provides basic remote buttons. Pointer, apps, inputs and keyboard tools are available for compatible TVs. Some TV apps do not accept keyboard input. Older Android remote services, Tizen and other TV platforms have no supported direct connection in this release.
Lights, switches, climate, curtains, vacuums, fans, locks and TV media players are supported through Home Assistant; switches, lights and calibrated covers on Shelly Gen2+ devices; and lights through a Philips Hue bridge. Only the controls a device reports are shown. Matter, SmartThings, Tuya, Nest and Shelly Gen1 are not supported.
Pairing does not appear
Check that you selected the correct TV. Return the TV to its home screen, then try pairing again. Restart the TV if necessary. Some TVs require confirmation with their existing remote instead of displaying a code.
A command did not take effect
Remotly sends a command once and reports what it can verify. A device that accepted a command may still show an unconfirmed state until it reports back; reopen the device to refresh. Remotly never repeats a command on its own, because the action may already have happened. If a Home Assistant or Shelly device shows an authentication error, check the token or password in its setup screen.
